Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi has gotten the support of a key political figure in the state ahead of the governorship election scheduled for November 16.
Hajiya Halima Alfa, All Progressives Congress (APC) women leader, and mass mobiliser has endorsed the governor for a second term. She is reputed to be a well-grounded women leader and mass mobiliser in Kogi East senatorial district.
The astute politician disclosed this during her visit to Governor Bello at his residence in Abuja on Tuesday, October 8.
She said her decision to support Bello was endorsed by her supporters and political associates after consultations.
The former governorship candidate on the platform of the APC said Governor Bello has done well despite the prevailing financial and political litigations he has faced.
She also hailed the governor for uniting the state across religious and ethnic lines and improving the security architecture in the state.
She urged the Igala people to embrace developmental agenda and jettison the so-called Igala agenda which she said is a project of a few political elites in the area.
Similarly, Honourable James Faleke has declared that he will support the reelection bid of Governor Bello.
Faleke, a former deputy governorship candidate of the APC, made the declaration when he visited Governor Bello in Abuja on Sunday, October 6.
